Ahead of the Curve…

Written by Thumper on Jun 22nd, 2010.

Most conservatives in Tucson know exactly who you mean when one mentions the moniker: ‘Turtle Boy’. More accurately, it’s ‘Zombie Kid’, but since he likes turtles…he’s been given the name of ‘Turtle Boy’ by our local talk show “shock jock” Jon Justice (and see, I spelled it right, too -- it’s really not that difficult Lefty-Blogs) -- and the name has stuck. For those of you that don’t ever check out any viral videos on YouTube, EVER (because at 19 million views, it’s darn popular) here is the original video:

It has given me the biggest grin to finally sit back and watch those on the Left here in Southern Arizona wake up to the realization that this man running for office truly is the ‘Turtle Boy’ -- something we on the Right have been saying for years. It’s nice to look back and see that the donkeys pulling the carts are finally rounding the bend.

In addition, several local Lefty-Blogs have begun to raise questions regarding Glassman’s campaign choices and, well, the legitimacy of his credentials as a bona-fide Senatorial Candidate. I refuse to link to them, but you can find them quite easy via Google.

I Like Turtles, Indeed!

H/T to Jon Justice -- a HUGE H/T to him to be the first to call Glassman out.

I suspect Glassman’s was a vanity campaign all along possibly to gain recognition for a statewide office run somewhere down the road.

What proably surprises most people is that the primary is not a gimmie. Then you wonder about issues between Pima Dems and the state. Then you do see some vitriol from his own party about avoiding debates. The whole “enegy drink” concept of his political existence (while we’re throwing aournd Justice-ism’s) gets exposed as pretty thin when you get away from a city council election.

It will be really interesting to see if he adjusts as the campaign goes on and dials in his message but the plan of substituting “Arizona” for “Tucson” as some sort of a scale up-conversion of his “Make Tucson a better place to live, work, and raise a family” is clearly not going to cut it in this competetive primary if the left is going to start demanding that he actually answers questions and takes positions on issues.
