This is a picture of Bill Konopnicki (second from left) campaigning with Sylvia Allen's Democratic Challenger Bill Jeffers (first from left) just days after promising publicly to support her if she prevailed against him in the run off held in Globe to replace the late Senator Jake Flake on the 2008 state Senate ballot.
The first rule in politics is that Birds of a feather flock together. It is just too clear as to where certain politicians stand by the interviews they give on Public Television, and by the “feathers” that come out in support. It has been clear from the beginning that Representative Bill Konopnicki is the Democrats’ candidate in the LD5 Senate race.
This article from the Arizona Republic on the comments of three Tempe Democrats tells it all.
The writer of the Republic article admits that what the three liberal Democrats (who state in the interview that the previous years of over spending were “the path to success”) what they favor is embodied in the outrageous big government, tax and spend budget proposal by LD5 RINO Bill Konopnicki.
The Dems are without a doubt cheering for their friend of big government to prevail against rural Arizona’s conservative champion. NEWS FLASH– Ain’t gonna happen!

Read the article in the Republic … what can be concluded when 3 Tempe progressive democrats cheer for a budget proposal from Bill Konopnicki?
How about the 19 republicans who endorsed the plan? Do you want rural AZ to loose its hospitals, com colleges and 45 children in a class? It is time we READ before we speak. He is one of the few that protect rural AZ.
Look before you leap!
Mr. Smith,
I seriously doubt that 19 Republicans support the budget. Word is there are about 5 in the House (Mason, Jones, Williams, Quelland, Konopnicki), and two in the Senate (Tibshraney, Carolyn Allen), Nelson might be a 3rd vote in the Senate.
I don’t think you’re going to go too far with 8 republicans on a budget, unless of course you mission is to screw over your own caucus and vote with the tax and spenders on the Dem side of the Isle.
Who might those 19 be? How about some names?
