The National Republican Trust has just come out with the Pelosi Index. It is actually a very useful tool for tracking votes and can be sorted several different ways. Gabrielle Giffords comes out the most liberal of the 3 Dem swing seats. The two safe Dems, Grijalva and Pastor, score 100% on the table. The three GOP Reps from Arizona all score a zero. Back to the same ole tricks again. Counting every single vote to make it looked like a Blue Dog Democrat with a moderate record is a Pelosi liberal. You tried this last time with Tim Bee…over and over again. The RNCC tried it too with their ads.
Guess what? No one cares…or at least not enough to win you any kind of an election. Take that tactic again and again with Giffords and you will lose this seat…again…miserably.
The winner of this seat will do it on local issues…and on those Giffords wins.
What does the federal government really accomplish locally, spread some appropriated cash around to the current occupant’s cronies? So we have 435 elected officials stealing cash out of each others districts and distributing it to their cronies. Who benefits? The cronies and those who receive “trickle down” from them.
The unconnected are being robbed in favor of the connected using “crisis” to stampede the electorate. If this is how you win local votes, then the MO is wearing thin. More, it is becoming apparent that the crises were cooked up (healthcare) or the Dem policies implemented to correct did not work.
Having voted wih Pelosi will not be halpful in 2010. The Republican Trust (linked in the post) only considers the major legislative votes, not every stinking little procedural vote as kralmajales implies. He’s a sneaky one.
