Freshman Ann Kirkpatrick (CD 1) keeps coming up on the list of vulnerable Democrats in Congress. At this time we are aware of three Republican candidates who are vying to take her on in the 2010 General Election. They are Paul Gosar, Bradley Beauchamp, and Rusty Bowers.
Each one has some presence on the social media sites but if you were so inspired, only one candidate, Gosar, will allow you to make an online donation. Beauchamp does not even have a donate link and Bower just says “Coming Soon.” How serious can you be about running for congress in 2010 and not have an online donation page? Is there something about residents of CD 1 that they do not contribute online?
Espresso Pundit wrote a story about Bowers and his legislative experience. His record is good but he might want to turn up to volume on his online strategy. Likewise for Beauchamp on the web site. Running for congress often comes down to 2 things, money and money. They may want to tap into the power of the internet if they seriously plan on taking on Kirkpatrick.
There had been some speculation about Bill Konopnicki also running in CD 1 but Sonoran Alliance is reporting that he might challenge Sylvia Allen for the LD 5 Senate (we will go with Sylvia in that primary.)

So you are telling me that we have a lobbyist who is totally beholden to a specific industry (Bowers), someone with zero experience with ANY community other than his dentistry community and is buying support right now (Gosar), and someone who can’t even be taken seriously because he is so far out on the fringes (Beauchamp)?
What about someone who represents me and everyone else I know in the district?
I want energy and enthusiasm too, these guys are all machines.
Hey Daryn… its very obvious from your post above that you know none of these candidates. What do you define as the “fringes”? The Constitution of which Beauchamp is a champion? No, he doesn’t talk about Porkulous Spendus but look at his endorsement page.
It is also obvious you know little of Bowers as well. That ‘specific industry’ aside from being quite important to the Arizona economy is also his employer. Do a wee bit of homework before you open your mouth please, Rusty has never been beholden to anyone – and anyone who is familiar with his august record in the Az Legislature already knows that fact. Oh, and he too is highly respectful of the US Constitution.
Don’t you wish more people in Congress had the knowledge of the Constitution as Beauchamp and Bowers? Maybe that Obamanation in the White House and those banshees from California wouldn’t be destroying our nations economy IF we sent intelligent representatives (Raul Grajalva excluded) to Washington DC
If you want energy and enthusiasm, watch Saturday Night Live or Glenn Beck – our governance isn’t for your entertainment.
As for the dentist? Maybe someday he’ll discover the rest of the District?
Konopnicki? He’d be best served as Ann’s replacement and he could take her down in a heartbeat… but you wouldn’t like him either, he certainly isn’t energetic or enthusiastic.
