We are not going to poll out readers on this one. Rep. Ray Barnes (unplugged) goes straight to the top of the list for Speech of the Year. The only questions is, will this earn him a spot on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Credit to AZ Capitol Times for putting the video on YouTube.
Sadly, Rep. Barnes apologized for his comments according to the Yellow Sheet. We do not have information about k-12 schools, but the U of A did hire a Director of Gay and Lesbian Affairs. And they say they are not receiving enough state funding. Sounds like they have too much money. The U of A even has an Institute for LGBT Studies.

sounds as if this was written by a bigot to me.
Great speech Ray! We have to many chiefs(administrators) in our school systems. We can save a lot of money by reducing the number of these needless people and improve education.Lets get back to basics in education.
Get the principals out of the bathrooms!
It’s almost comforting that Gila Courier liked Rep. Barnes speech.
It was about time someone finally spoke up. Great job done by Rep. Ray Barnes.
Kat Clark’s comment that Ray Barnes is a bigot shows a common trick that those fighting illegal migration recognize: When you lack facts, shift to name-calling and personal attacks.
Education is the biggest cost to Arizona taxpayers and the biggest money-waster. Educational bureaucrats have enjoyed immunity from cost review in the past by claiming, “It’s the children and their future” but their ride on the gravy train is over.
When I read in the local newspaper that the school district holds after-school hip-hop classes and designates an ENTIRE SCHOOL DAY for “diversity training” at the same time the school bureaucrats whine that they’re underfunded, we recognize poor priorities.
Rep. Barnes recognizes it as well.
A thought provoking question: what if we ran supermarkets like public schools? See: http://www.schoolchoices.org/roo/harris1.htm.
