Despite Gov. Brewer’s optimism, our sources indicate a Special Session of the Legislature will not happen any time soon. Reports indicate the Senate cannot line up the votes to pass a fix to start addressing the $2,000,000,000 gap in the FY 2010 budget.

It will probably get even harder to schedule a deal as the holidays approach and the next regular session approaches in January, 2010. Meanwhile, the fiscal crisis continues.
