Yesterday, we received an email from what is usually a reliable source informing us of an op-ed story about Tucson Prop 200. Unfortunately, in this case, the information was not completely correct. We apologize to our readers and the other parties mention in the story. We have pulled the article.
We have been able to break some great stories before other media outlets but in this case we moved a little too quickly. We will continue to cover news as it happens and value your continued support.

I think it is time you revealed the “source” of the email you published. I also think you should take responsibility for publishing a piece that accused a public official of having a drinking problem. You did read the piece before you published it, right?
Maybe you should read the post above
“Unfortunately, in this case, the information was not completely correct.”
I also apologized.
“We apologize to our readers and the other parties mention in the story”
You did read the post before you replied, didn’t you?
I will not reveal my source for this particular piece, sorry, but won’t happen…and the reason is this: It was billed and titled as a ‘letter to the editor’. It was not billed as a news piece, We never made claim that it was “news”. Now, if the real author is willing to stand up and claim the opinion piece as their own, and is willing to back up their claims made in the piece…that is their choice, and if verifiable, we will run with the piece again. Until then, it is what it is, which is a retracted piece with an apology, that will NOT get pulled from our website, until age and storage limitations accomplish that for us.
Thumper, your excuse is pathetic.
Thumper, you claimed it was written by someone who has been quoted as saying “those are not my words.”
I understand the piece was an op-ed and not news. Frankly, there is very little truthful news on this site. But that’s not a relevant point. You libeled someone with a piece you claimed was written by someone who says that is not true.
When a bunch of folks writing under pseudonyms publish a piece under a real person’s name, then that person says it wasn’t their work, well that is just way too fishy.
