What is an “ugly” Council Race, Jane?

Written by Ro Chambeau on Oct 2nd, 2009.

WhiteJane See White was on Arizona Illustrated again tonight (gee, Bill Buckmaster, can’t you get ONE right leaning voice on your Friday roundtable?).  She uncorked the following statement about the City Council race:

“…but the council race is really getting sort of ugly with the Tea Partiers and the Democrats and the Republicans all throwing eggs at each other…”—Jane See White

How can Buckmaster let generalities like this slide?  She did not offer one single specific shred of evidence to support her claim against the Tucson Tea Party.  Jane, feel free to comment on one of the “eggs” thrown by the Tucson Tea Party in the city council race that constitutes “ugly campaigning”.

Is “ugly campaigning” the type of campaigning that occurs when a Democrat incumbent is challenged or forced to answer for his or her record?  Should all the candidates compliment each other on their records and ideas?  Is that how an election should go?  I honestly think she’s using the word “ugly” in place of the word ”competitive”.

I actually can see where she’s coming from on the Pima Democratic party, the chairman of which sent out a press release this week that 90% name calling–against the Tea Party organization, of course.

What, specifically, has anyone from the Tucson Tea Party organization done or said in this city council election about an opponent that warrants your accusation of egg throwing and ugly campaigning?

OK, I’ll start. Jane, the blouse you chose to wear on television is ugly. My bad.

As usual, she is regurgitating the democrat press releases, in this case Rogers’ name calling missive. What she does on television is no different than what she does at the keyboard at the Daily Star.
