The blogosphere went crazy today, racing to cover the news of soon to be Governor Jan Brewer’s transition team. Within 5 minutes of each other Sonoran Alliance, Gila Courier, and Eye on the 9th Floor all had posted the news. (Looks like a few people were not getting much work done on a Friday afternoon.)
One story that slipped under the radar was the committee assignments for the state House of Representatives. Southern Arizona conservatives did well, despite their freshman status. Congratulations to Frank Antenori from LD 30 for his appointment as Vice Chair of Transportation and Infrastructure. Also, David Gowan of LD 30 will be Vice Chairman of Military Affairs and Public Safety and David Stevens of LD 25 has been selected as Vice Chairman of Water and Energy. Daniel Patterson was proud of the assignments for LD 29 but we think the two newcomers in LD 30 outscored 29.

So much for the idiots at the Star and Citizen bemoaning the loss of their moderate/liberal “all-star” team and their “Southern Arizona is losing all of its influence in the legislature” nonsense.
Antenori at vice chair for transportation?
Wow, Steve Farley is probably going nuts.
Say bye-bye to the choo-choo.
It’s time for some real transportation solutions. I heard Antenori on the Radio talking about Tucson being left behind in regards to recruiting new industry because of the anti-business, anti-transportation infrastructure atmosphere propagated by the NIMBYs.
A very small, very vocal percentage of the population is screwing over everyone else.
It’s time for those in the silent majority to start making noise. Start emailing Antenori and tell him we want better roads, newer roads and better planning in Pima County when it comes to things like a by-pass, beltway, or cross town expressway.
I’m sick of sitting in traffic burning diesel when I should be working earning money.
Tucson casts me thousands of dollars in lost time and fuel costst every year.
Now is the time to strike while the iron is hot! Let’s build some roads!
