It's about time the Republicans in AZ realized what I've been saying all along. John McCain just doesn't care anymore, has he ever? hhhmmmm....
When he had his townhall last year, my friend Andrea got up to address him and after arguing with her a few minutes, he cut her off and changed the subject....He also allowed the crowd to boo loudly OVER people. That would be fascism...experienced the same thing at Giffords townhall. I'm interested in hearing with J.D. Hayworth has to say....Bye Bye John McCain!!!

UPDATE: I have changed the location of the protest to Senator McCain's Tucson office at 407 West Congress Street Tucson, AZ 85701. The date and time will remain the same. Many who will be attending the "2010 LINCOLN DAY DINNER" will pass directly in front of the protest, which is almost directly across the street from Manning House Way. We will also have maximum exposure from Congress Street traffic. I will hold accountable all who expressed their dissatisfaction to me about location, but promised to help fight the McCain machine. And to those I say - future actions will speak louder
than words. This protest will be one of the first important steps to
uniting against the re-election of this Republican In Name Only!!!
You may still just show up or R.S.V.P. here:

I am a PC in Pinal County. Since December PC’s from five counties have made repeated formal requests to meet with Sen. McCain hear our thoughts regarding the utterly unacceptable performance of Sen. McCain and the GOP to kill the Democratic healthcare bill which ultimately passed the Senate today without effective opposition. I was one of the PC’s coordinating the meeting requests. We have had dead air and refusal from Sen. McCain to meet with us.

At the mandatory meeting for Pinal County GOP Precinct Committeemen on 1/16 Sen. McCain was a guest speaker and did Q&A with the PC’s. Early on in the meeting the Senator came by and shook my hand. Later on I was one of the first people selected to ask the Senator a question I started off framing the question with “Senator, for the last month PC’s from five counties have been asking to meet with you to discuss healthcare and other critical legislation. We have faxed, emailed, called …” At which point Sen. McCain cut me off and told me how busy he was, didn’t I know he was in Afganistan, didn’t I know, and on and on … Microphone in hand he castigated me for even beginning to think that a month was enough time for him to meet with a large group of his GOP PC’s.

I then went on “Senator, let me just ask one of the questions we PC’s wanted to discuss with you. Throughout the month of December your DC staff said repeatedly and consistently that you wanted to improve the healthcare bill and pass healthcare reform …” At this point the Senator went ballistic and went right into Alinsky 13 with “That’s not True!” We went back a forth a few time with me trying to get to complete framing my question to which he loudly responded “That’s not true” calling me a liar. He then went on with “Didn’t you hear me on MSNBC, CNN …” running down a litany of the shows he used to get free press and telling people that what I had said his staff told me was not true. It was obvious he did not want me to get to my question and was determined to make it about me and not the topic. I held up my hands indicating that I was done.

What happened to me set the pattern for the rest of McCain’s Q&A. If he didn’t like the question he personally attacked the individual asking it. If he liked the question he would be courteous and wax on and on with a long answer. At the end of the meeting multiple PC’s came up to me and told me that they had also talked with McCain’s DC staff in December and were told the exact same think I had been told repeatedly, that McCain wanted to improve the bill and pass healthcare legislation.

For the whole story on McCain, Kyl and healthcare go to my blog under sjkohut on www.redstate.com. McCain is coming to woo the PC’s. it is the only reason he is there. He will be in the fight of his life. After blowing us off, ignoring us, calling us liars, now he wants our support because his campaign is in the crapper and the conservative grassroots have put a well deserved target on his back. Should the PCs protest McCain? It is long overdue for John to receive back what he has dealt out to others. If we accomplish one thing this election cycle it is to bag this particularly offensive RINO in the primary.

He has pissed me off so many times, especially the 2nd amendment and border issues to name only two. His campaign was awful. Donald Duck could have beaten him. I'm so sick of hearing what happened to him 40 years ago. You know 50,000 times is enough already., we get it. I do not live by what happened to me 40 years ago. and neither should he. We need a conservative 100% of the time, not when he feels like it. He is so unpredictable. He has to go.

Donna, unfortunately, as a Republican PC, I chose not to attend the dinner solely because of the attendance of Sen. John McCain as an honored speaker.

I won't be there to protest - my absence is my protest.

I also fully agree with what Jill said above.

I am the organizer of this event. I am a Republican Precinct Committeeman against the re-election of John McCain. Perhaps my facebook reply to Donna Alu says it best:
"Donna, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you. I can understand your point of view about this not being the proper place for a protest. I am actually having a hard to with this decision, however I feel that it must be done. There are so many other great elected officials in AZ who could have been invited to honor Precinct Committeemen. The Republican Party PC numbers have increased significantly because people like me have entrusted them to stand strong with conservative principles. However, when they invite John McCain, a man who has so many times gone against these principles, it makes we wonder if they are truly paying attention to what is driving their new found success.

I will promise you this. I will fight for conservative principles and in no way do I wish to harm to the Republican Party. I want them to be the party that I am proud of, and if the AZ GOP continues their support of McCain, that is something I am not proud of. So that is why I have organized this protest. It is unfortunate that this protest has to occur at an event to honor PC's, but the GOP's decision to have a Republican In Name Only as a speaker looks worse on the party than the protest that will be occurring outside.

I will also promise that after the primaries are over, it will once again be time to unite to fight the socialists who are trying to destroy our great Nation."
